Midweek Make

Hey, and welcome to my new regular feature 'Midweek Make'. I've been planning this for a while, but it nearly wasn't to be, our computer picked up a nasty little virus which nearly put a stop on the first post! But thanks to Gary it's all sorted now, so let me tell you all about it.
Each Wednesday I will post a new piece that has been crafted by Lil ole me. This could be cards cake, cookies, anything. However I shall endeavour (big word) to join in with one of the many card making challenges out there. This is going to be a BIG challenge in itself as I normally like to be left to my own devices but I look at them all the time for ideas, inspiration and new techniques, so it would be rude not to have a go.
For the first post this week I thought I would ease myself in gently and after looking through the challenge blogs I picked my favourite theme 'Sweet Treat' on the Secret Crafter blog. I thought I would keep it nice and simple, but steer away from the stamped image method I would normally use. And I don't think you can get much sweeter than this! I made it with some paper mania papers that I've not used for ages and they're so pretty, as I type its sitting on my fireplace and making me wonder if I could part with it, this is exactly the kind of card I would love to receive...maybe I'll send it to myself :)
Thanks for stopping by,
Vicky Xxx

This weeks secret crafter challenge is right up my street..Plain and simple is the theme, I love the less is more approach and hate to overcrowd my cards with things that may draw attention away from the focus piece. I've been camping for a few days with my husband Gary and our little boy Jack, and only got home last night, so wasn't planning on doing any crafting but they both went out shopping for my birthday leaving me with a few hours to myself..what luxury!!! So I whipped up this little card, using a stamp from rubber romance and some left over papers from my stash. I inked the edge of the card to give it a vintage feel and water coloured the image giving her some funky bright red hair for a little bit of rock n roll!! I did also have time to make some cupcakes this morning, however they didn't turn out as I wanted and are a bit rubbish so I'm still debating whether to blog them...we'll see Xxx

Let it Snow

I've been dying to make some glittery snowflakes for ages, and now Ive finally been given the chance. The challenge on secret crafter this week is blue, white and a little bit of a snowflake. I combined this with the sketch over on sketch Saturday and here is the result. I really enjoyed this challenge even if I did spend the rest of the day with glitter all over my face!

The stamp is by lili of the valley and the papers are by Funky fairy. I really like this sketch so I might use it on my moms birthday card too, watch this space, lol.

Thanks for looking Xxx
