One card and a cake

Here is my card for the secret crafter challenge. I really enjoyed this sketch and will definitely use it again. The stamp is by magnolia and the papers are from the Funky fairy free Halloween download. I think they work really well, the sentiment I made on my PC again, I really love the font

And talking of Halloween I thought I would share this pic of the Halloween cake I made for my moms party. We had a great time. Jack dressed up as a vampire and loved making lots of OOOH noises. lol. Hope you like them both

Thanks for looking Xxx

sketch Saturday # 24

Here is a card I made for my cousin Christopher on behalf of my Nan, using the sketch on Sketch Saturday this week. I sort of went a bit wrong as in you can't really see the two background papers properly. Still, I'm really happy with the result, and I hope Nan will be too.

The stamp I used is from elzybells and the papers are actually Christmas papers that I had left over. The sentiment I made on my PC.

Thanks for looking Xxx

Let it Snow

I've been dying to make some glittery snowflakes for ages, and now Ive finally been given the chance. The challenge on secret crafter this week is blue, white and a little bit of a snowflake. I combined this with the sketch over on sketch Saturday and here is the result. I really enjoyed this challenge even if I did spend the rest of the day with glitter all over my face!

The stamp is by lili of the valley and the papers are by Funky fairy. I really like this sketch so I might use it on my moms birthday card too, watch this space, lol.

Thanks for looking Xxx

secret crafter #2

I made this card for my mom on behalf of my lovely Nan, the sketch is from secret crafter challenge, I love pink and grey together and I think this card looks a little wintery but not too cold. Perfect for this time of year and my mom loves pink, just like me, so I know she will love this card. both stamps are from magnolia and the sentiment I made on my PC.

Thanks for looking Xxx

Thursday 16 October 2008

At last I've got 5 minutes peace and quiet, so I thought I'd show you the card I made for the sketch Saturday challenge. This is a great sketch, the stamp is from elzybells and the paper is from funky fairy doodlementals. Originally I was going to use a plain pink background but it was way too girly, I think it works so much better with this background. The daisy stamp is by denami design and both coloured in water colour pencils

Sorry about the picture quality but I had to use my mobile phone my camera has a dead battery. Thanks for looking Xxx

Trick or Treat

The challenge on Funky Fairy this week is to make a Halloween card using these fab free papers, so I decided to make this card on behalf of my little boy for his Grandma. She is having a Halloween party and Jack will be going as a vampire, so this stamp from cc designs is perfect and I coloured it to match his costume.

The sketch is from a new challenge blog I stumbled upon, Secret Crafter, and is a great one which I will definitely use again, just like the papers. Thanks again Funky Fairy for another great freebie. XXX

funky fairy # 33

Here is my card for the Funky Fairy challenge, I really loved doing this sketch, and love the funky fairy site. They have some really cool stuff and some fab free downloads on their blog of inspiration, and you know me I love a freebie. So because the free stuff is so good I decided to use it all. lol

The image is from the hoppy wishes collection at pink petticoat and the rest is all funky fairy. I have to say I love this card the colours are so me. I hope you all like it too.

My Nan, bless her, has clean wiped me out of cards and has ordered about 6 more, I'm going to be very busy, so bring on the challenges Xxx

sketch saturday # 15

At last I finally found time to do a challenge. This is for the challenge over on the sketch Saturday blog. I used this cute Froggy from the Pink Petticoat collection Hoppy Wishes for him. The papers are paper mania and Funky Fairy and the flowers are by make it yourself.

This was a great sketch but personally I think I coloured the frog a bit too green. Still, after with standing the mantle piece test I'm pretty happy with the results Xxx

Papertake weekly challenge

Whats this another challenge ?? I really must calm down that's two in a week. LOL. I love the challenges on the papertake blog and have been itching to have a go. So here is the card I made for their challenge of 'buttons'. I bought these mini cards a while ago and thought they would be a great size for a note card or Thank you. Being as they are smaller than the normal cards I use I thought a simple layout would work best and must say I'm really pleased with it.

The stamp is from the pink cat studio tweet plate. The sentiment is pinched, or as I prefer recycled, from a card that was sent to me, I only tried it by chance but I think it really works, and I coloured the bags and the flower with glitter gel pens to add a touch of sparkle. Hope you all like it and can I say thank you to all the people who left messages on my previous post you made me feel very welcome in this crafty world!!

Sketch Saturday Challenge

Woo Hoo...... I finally managed to do a challenge and here it is. I chose the challenge on the Sketch Saturday blog. Normally I don't get chance to do them on time, so I waited until Jack was tucked up fast asleep in bed and got started. Once I found a spark of inspiration the sketch was really fun to do.

I used a stamp from pink cat studio and papers from paper mania. the ribbon and flowers were left overs from my stash. Hope you like it

Thank you

Simrans Mum Loved the lily card I made for her so much that she emailed me and asked for some thank you cards in the same design. It was a lot of work as she wanted them quite quickly so I took the things I needed to work and did some stamping in my lunch hour!!

the materials I used are all the same as before

A card for Simran

My friend asked me to make a card for his niece Simran's 1st birthday, so here it is. I had already seen a picture of her so Iknew the dress up lily plate from pink cat studio would be perfect especially as her mum always put her hair into little pigtails!

I have to say I'm really pleased with it and would have loved to receive this when I was a little girl. the papers are all by papermania in the pastels collection (my favourite!) Its shame that you cant tell from the pic but her wings are purple glitter and really sparkle. Oh well I hope she likes it as much as I do

Love you Daddy

Here is the card I made on behalf of my 1 year old Jack. We both hope his Daddy likes it.

I used the billy stamps from Pink Cat studio, and coloured it accordingly to look like Jack, the buttons I had left over from a set I bought in smiths when I was making my mom a scrapbook of Jack.

Happy Fathers Day Daddy

Fathers day

Well with fathers Day just around the corner everyone has been talking about buying cards so I decided to make a few to sell. making cards for all the men in our lives has not been easy, trying to come up with new ideas instead of the usual fishing and golf stuff was quite challenging! Although I did get a lot of inspiration from the "Billy" stamps from Pink Cat Studio. For Dads with young Children these are great. I have also thrown in some origami shirts for the traditionalists amongst us.
Hope you like

Rita's Birthday

This one is just for you Nat... I know you wanted to see it.
Here is a pic of the card I made for Rita's birthday, Hope she liked it.
Happy Birthday Rita XXX

I used lily from Pink cat studio, and the papers were from the paper mania pastels pack. The sketch I used was on the Papertake weekly challenge. I never get to do the challenges straight away but still use them for inspiration. The flowers I recycled from a card that someone sent to me. They were so lovely I couldn't bear to throw them away. Happy 2nd anniversay

Today is my 2nd wedding anniversary!

Here is the card I made for my wonderful husband. He likes froggies so I knew he would like this. The image is from Pink Petticoat which I coloured with water colour pencils then I coloured the heart with a red glitter gel pen so it really sparkles. The spotty paper was free in papercraft inspirations magazine (they always have such great freebies)

Its simple but it says everything I wanted it too. Xxx

natalies 18th

My friend at work Natalie is 18 today and a while ago she asked me to make her cake for her. So I agreed. she said she didn't care what it was like so long as it was pink. No problem I love Pink. she has a tattoo of some stars on her foot and that was my inspiration. I even made the butter cream inside pink by putting pink colouring in it.

Apparently it went down a storm and there wasn't a scrap left, I didn't even get a piece myself !!

I have to say thank you to the man in the icing shop for all his help and tips he was really good and helped me loads.

I did make her a card too with lily, from Pink Cat Studio, on it, but silly me forgot to take a pic. so you,ll have to use your imagination. needless to say it was pink! Xxx

Happy 40th Alden

My Husband asked me to make this card for his friend Alden's birthday. He and his wife Lara are very into Burlesque and are big fans of Dita Von Teese, so I tried to make a card in this type of style. I've never tried a style like this so found it a bit difficult but I hope I managed to pull it off.

The sketch of the girl is by pin up artist Rion Vernon and the font I downloaded from dafont. Xxx

Engagement

This the engagement card that I was commissioned to do. It had to be personalised with the couples name on but the rest was up to me. I had real trouble with this one, nothing I wanted to do seemed to work. in the end I went with a traditional heart and added an engagement ring inside for a little twist.

I wasn't sure they were going to like it and was half expecting to be asked to do it again, but they loved it. Apparently when she handed it over to the happy couple it out did any other cards they had been given, and by some sheer fluke the ring inside matched her actual engagement ring !!!

1 Today

We had a lovely time today on Jacks 1st birthday. He had lots of cards and presents and wanted to open them all at once. However at times I think the wrapping paper was more interesting to him than the actual presents.

We all went to the sea life centre for the day and Jack had a great time pointing to all the fish, and crawling off all over the place.

Here is the card I made for him. I hope one day when hes old enough he really likes it.

Happy Birthday my Little man Xxx

King of the jungle

Today was Jacks 1st birthday Party. It was only a small family thing but it was really nice. Gary and I were up til late last night decorating the room and blowing up balloons.

I decided to make Jacks birthday cake myself, and have to say I'm really proud of it. it caused me a bit, well a lot, of stress but I'm really pleased at the end result.

Jack had a lovely time and was all partied out at the end of it all.

Another card Another Planet

Today is my uncles birthday, hes very into sci fi and stuff so I thought this alien would be perfect. The paper and template is from papercraft inspirations magazine, and the textured paper for the planet is from a set of recycled handmade paper I bought at the Eden project in Cornwall last year.

I was really pleased with this card and Gary thought it was great too, then I showed it to my Mom who said it looked like a blob. Thanks Mom lol.

The finishing touch is the wobbly eyes on the alien, I think they really set it off.

Happy Birthday Gary

Happy Birthday to you.... this is the card I made for my husbands birthday. To be honest I'm a little disappointed, I think I'm a bit overwhelmed with all the jungle stuff for Jacks party at the mo.

Still Gary really liked it so I suppose that's all that matters. Xxx

Two Hearts

A friend at work asked me to make a card for his girlfriend as a sort of anti valentines day card. They are both different religions so shall remain nameless.

He wanted a one off card instead of the usual valentine stuff and so we came up with this idea, and posted it on a different day.

I'm told he tried to pass off the work as his own but his lady is way smarter than that. lol.

I'm really pleased she liked it, and so much so has asked me to make her an engagement card for her friend. So watch this space.......

Jacks Jungle Party

Hi All

My little boy Jack will be one on the 25Th March so Daddy and I are busy planning his first ever birthday party. His bedroom is decorated with a baby jungle theme so we thought this would be a good theme for the party too.

As well as making invitations to send out we have been busy painting a 'happy birthday' banner and making jungle leaves to decorate the room. Me and my mum found some great jungle material which I'm going to use to make bunting to hang from the ceiling, and we have ordered some great party ware, and a brilliant monkey balloon.

I hope my little monkey enjoys it

Mothers Day

Hi

March is a very busy time for me cards wise so you can expect lots of posts over the next few weeks. Here is the card I made for my Lovely Mommy. As you can see I have a bit of a bear thing going on at the mo.

I really hope she likes it. The paper was free again from papercraft inspirations magazine, and the rose was from a set I bought to use in my wedding scrapbook (which I still haven't started yet lol).

oh well next project here I come

Bye Chick

Sandra our area manager is leaving today. As area managers go she probably one of the best we've had, so I thought I would make her this little card to say goodbye.

She lives in Wales and keeps chickens in her garden so I thought this little chick was great. I made the chick myself with a template from papercraft inspirations and used some fab embossed wrapping paper that I found in town.

Goodbye and good luck Sandra Xxx

Happy Valentines Day

Hi Everyone

This is the card I made for my wonderful husband Gary for valentines day. I made the bear and the heart myself and the paper was free in the current issue of Papercraft inspirations magazine. Considering I was short on time I don't think its too bad, and he loved it anyway

Love you Gary Xxx
